The Project

I asked ChatGPT for a creative restaurant idea to inspire me in designing a logo, it suggested an interesting concept for a Japanese - Peruvian fusion restaurant named Umami Sol.

The Design Approach

I wanted to combine Japanese and Peruvian design styles, focusing on the Japanese for "Umami" and Peruvian for "Sol." I imagined this restaurant in a city, so I used bold lettering and a stylized exclamation point to match the modern city aesthetic. The red and off-white colors come from the "Inti" textiles of the Incas, representing the sun god.

The End Product

I created various marketing materials to go with the logo, including T-shirts, tote bags, posters, and mockups for the menu, takeout bags, and signage.
